Information and Advice

We offer information and advice on deafness and visual impairment.  We can also support carers and relatives on behalf of deaf and visually impaired people they care for or care about.

FOOTNOTE        deaf in this context means sign language users, deaf blind, deafened and hard of hearing

Meeting rooms are available for booking for sensory impairment groups, organisations.  Contact the centre at the address/telephone above.

 

Opening times

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

10.00am - 12 noon        1.00pm - 3.00pm

You may choose to visit or telephone at the following times depending on your enquiry.  We are based in the staff residences behind the eye department.  Follow the signs for Training and Development.

 

STAFF from VISUAL IMPAIRMENT SERVICE are available Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.  A limited amount of equipment is available to try.

A SOCIAL WORKER from the DEAF SOCIETY is available Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings.

A TECHNICAL OFFICER from the DEAF SOCIETY is available Thursday afternoons to demonstrate and discuss equipment for people who are deaf or hard of hearing
